This is a new handle made for the 3/4" Thompson bowl gouge It is 24" long
Some time ago I began to use the wonderful tools made by Doug Thompson. They have since become my favorite turning tools. But Doug sells these tools unhandled. So I set about making some handles for myself. I have been using them for some time and have gotten good feedback from other turners that have tried them. They are made from 1" 6061 Aluminum and are covered with Braided Vinyl tubing. The finished diameter is 1-3/8". The tools are bored 2 1/4" deep to securely hold the turning tool. The tool is locked into place with two 8mm set screws. If you need a handle longer or shorter or to hold a different size gouge, just let me know. I am pretty flexible and will try to make just what you need.
After receiving some excellent feedback from many wood turners, I am now offering my handles in several different sizes. I have also begun to put a colored stripe under the vinyl on each handle.

Shipping costs for the 16" and 18" handles are $8.00 per handle in the continental U.S. And $12.00 for two handles. The 24" handle would be $11.00 shipping in the continental U.S. If you are interested in more than two handles or live outside of the continental U.S. please contact me for an exact shipping quote.
